If you are a fan of live music, and if you live in or will be traveling to Dallas, Texas, there are some hot music venues in the city that you very well may want to check out. In fact, there are eight highly regarded live music venues in Dallas that should warrant your attention. 

2624 Commerce Street 

Adair’s is one of the most popular country music venues in Dallas — and that says a great deal. Adair’s offers an abundance of free live music, seven nights a week. Performances features a diverse group of country musicians. The stage at Adair’s is renowned for “raising up” some of the best country artists to come from the Lone Star State. Performances start some evenings as early as 7:00 p.m. The venue also features nightly drink specials. 


The Common Table 
2917 Fairmount Street 

Some call The Common Table the best kept secret on the live music scene in Dallas. The venue presents a great deal of free music. Located Uptown, The Common Table presents a wide range of genres. These include everything from indie to pop-electronic. There are drink specials at The Common Table, paired to match the performers on stage. 

Sundown at Granada 
3520 Greenville Avenue 

Sundown at Granada is the successor to the popular, original Granada Theater. The venue features a highly popular rooftop patio. Sundown at Granada hosts a variety of performers from different musical genres. The venue features a full menu of healthy and delectable eats. In addition, Sundown at Grenada has a truly comprehensive beer menu. 

Opening Bell Coffee 
1409 S. Lamar Street #12 

Open mic night at Opening Bell Coffee is a quality event. It is not your run of the mill open mic cattle call where quality can be questionable. Rather, Tuesday open night mic at Opening Bell Coffee consistently is a solid event. The venue presents fresh performers, but they are solid ones as well. 

The Free Man 
2626 Commerce Street 

The Free Man features live music nearly every night. The venue hosts up to 15 shows each week. Wednesday is the night where some the best blues guitarists in Dallas, and the surrounding area, hit the state at The Free Man. Wednesday blues at The Free Man is presented at no cost. 

Twilite Lounge 
2640 Elm Street 

Twilite Lounge is regarded as one of the best bars in Dallas. The live music schedule at Twilite Lounge is amazing. There is a heavy tilt towards jazz, but the venue presents other genres as well. Indeed, not matter the genre being presents at Twilite Lounge on any given night, it is bound to be some of the best music to be found anywhere in Dallas. 

Klyde Warren Park 
2012 Woodall Rogers Freeway 

Klyde Warren Park has become a solid destination for live music. Indeed, it is one of the few parks or green spaces in Dallas that regularly presents quality live music. Thursday night is free music night at Klyde Warren Park. You will want to stake out a claim on the lawn early because this is a popular event. The published calendar can tell you who will be playing on any given evening, allowing you to plan ahead. 

The Balcony Club 
1825 Abrams Parkway 

Live music is a nightly occurrence at The Balcony Club. The Balcony Club generally pays homage to great music from days gone by. The Balcony Club features performers paying tribute to the musical eras beginning in the 1920s and forward into the 1960s, as a general rule. With that said, there certainly are evenings when more contemporary offerings are staged at The Balcony Club. 

Dallas is rapidly coming to its own when it comes to the city’s music scene. This includes an ever increasing number of performers who are presenting their own materials at these different prime music locations in the city. The trend is expected to continue into the future, with the idea that Dallas will become a major music scene, not only in Texas but in all of the United States as well.
